Our Power, Our Vote, Our City: Gamaliel in Memphis and Beyond

April 21-24, 2022

Join Gamaliel leaders, organizers, and friends in Memphis for a weekend of Integrated Voter Engagement (IVE) training and action, April 21-24, 2022. The weekend event, titled “Our Power, Our Vote, Our City: Gamaliel in Memphis and Beyond!”, is an important opportunity for us to show up as a Network and provide powerful support to our affiliate in Memphis—MICAH—in their fight for a just legal system in Shelby County and robust turnout in the upcoming primary and general elections.

As many of you know, MICAH has made the case for addressing the outsized control and impact exercised by the county’s District Attorney. With that office on the ballot in the upcoming election, now is the time to engage voters in a conversation about the power of the prosecutor.

Here is what you can expect if you choose to travel to Memphis and join local leaders in the fight:

April 21
Travel day

April 22
Grounding in the civil rights history of Memphis, making the connection between this fight and Gamaliel’s Transformational Justice and Civil Rights for Immi

April 23
Deep canvassing in key locations around Memphis

April 24
Wrap-up and reflection on weekend/adjourn at noon

In addition, there will be opportunities to enjoy Memphis barbeque, experience the local culture, and deepen relationships with colleagues in Memphis and from across the Network.

I am registering as a leader from another part of the Gamaliel Network (not a resident of the Memphis area) for the Our Power, Our Vote, Our City event.
